In 2017, I embarked on three photography trips to China.
In early spring, the small cotton buds appeared early on the desolate and cold land.
In early summer, the lush green leaves of cotton cover the entire land and are decorated with beautiful white flowers.
In late autumn, the full, soft, pure white cotton finally blooms in the harvest season.
There, I met people who lived in harmony with the harsh nature and devoted themselves to cultivating cotton.
I also met cotton that bloomed tenaciously on the earth in the same environment.
On that first trip, I witnessed the power of nature with my own eyes.
The storm swept across the earth, rolling up countless loess and sand.
In the sandstorm where it was very difficult to breathe and open my eyes, I saw the cotton that had just sprouted
The brave figure holding on to the ground in order not to be blown away by the strong wind.
At the same time, in the dust and smoke flying all over the sky, there was still a faint figure of a man and a woman,
They are facing the storm resolutely to protect their seedlings.
At that moment, the earth taught me what to photograph.
That is, to depict the harsh ecology of people and cotton living on this land.
And the harsh yet magnificent scenery full of beauty, fertility and infinite joy.
